Fine Line Buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula Ron Williams) A columnar form of Buckthorn with very fine linear leaves.  Seed mostly nonviable so it is not invasive like many of its cousins.

Cultivar OriginA chance cross between Rhamnus frangula cultivar Columnaris, and Rhamnus frangula Asplenifolia. Selected by Ronald Williams of Green Bay, WI in 1989.
Misc Facts'The genus name Frangula comes from the word "frango", meaning fragile or brittle, in reference to the tendency of the twigs of some species to break easily. The specific epithet alnus refers to the alder genus Alnus. This plant is often found growing in moist habitats near alders.' (#144)
