Maintenance | After the blooming period the plant it will need some pruning. This can be handled in two ways. The easiest being is cutting the plant back and it will quickly fill in with new growth. The preferred method, although more time consuming is cutting off some of the outside leaves (these leaves will be flopping) and some of the larger inner leaves. With the second method a large space isn't left from removing all the foliage. |

Author's Notes | Even though this plant has a short period of bloom, it tends to be one of my favorite Geraniums. I love the intense violet-purple color. In a garden that I have maintained since the mid 1980's I have a planting of this Geranium that is over 25 years old. (2016) |
