Cultivar Origin
Originated as a seedling of Exeter Elm Ulmus glabra Exoniensis, and the Himalayan Elm Ulmus wallichiana. Released in around 1970.

The cultivar is named for the 16th century Flemish physician and botanist Rembert Dodoens.
