Author's Notes
At the garden center (Prospect Hill in New Berlin, Wisconsin USA) this is a fast seller. Nicely grown plants with lots of leaf color fly out of the garden center. I have one in my yard for 5 years (2015) and it seems to be slow growing. I gave a talk at a Garden Symposium and I talked about this plant. Many people from the audience agreed with how nice this shrub is.
