Author's Notes | I have seen a few large multi stem plants and most needed to use wire cable to prevent the trunks from splitting. At Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners, Wisconsin USA) there is one large tree that is heavily cabled to prevent splitting. Even with the cables, which are hidden as the leaves unfold, it is a majestic tree. |
