I have found in very harsh winters (Zone #5) with little snow fall, there can be die back but the plants will quickly recover from the crown in the spring

Dimensions
I have found in semi-shade moist conditions Vinca is a very fast spread in hot dry conditions much slower. Reaches about 6 inches high and spreads forever.

Occasional shearing will help thicken the plant. Weeds should be at a minimum because of the plants thick growth

In moist, good soil this plant can be very aggressive. In poor, dry soils the rate of spread slows down appreciatively.
