Misc Facts
The name was changed from A.speciosa to A. zerumbet variegata in 1972. The common name comes from the glossy shell pink color of the buds.
Author's Notes
The first plant of Variegated Shell Pink Ginger was a large overgrown donated plant. It took a heavy knife to cut and divide the tough rhizomes. It seems to be a very hard plant to kill.
