Dimensions | I have seen this listed as a slow growing plant, but when I have used it, the growth rate seems to be moderate. I have only grown this shrub for a few years and it is hard to judge the ultimate size Some list this plant as around 20 feet in height by 5 foot spread (ref. #1-Dirr) or 7-9 feet tall by 30" spread.(ref #11-Bloom). Time will only tell. |
Maintenance | very little needed |

Native Site | The species Juniperus scopulorum "Rocky Mountain Juniper" grows from Canada to Texas. |
Author's Notes | I had two of these Junipers growing in my garden, and they reached over 12-14 feet tall by 6-8 feet spread in about 12 years. Had to be removed because of disease problems. |
