Author's Notes
Be careful when working with this plant. The nasty barbed spines get stuck in your fingers, you try to pull them out with your teeth and they get stuck in your lips (been there, done this). For a while one of my horticulture classes projects was to make a dish garden out of these plants. Lots of fingers with little spines embedded in them.
